積層する形 layering form
この一連の、積層する形は『漆のそのものが造形素材と成り得るのか』という自問に基づき、１７年に亘ってその表現方法の研究を重ねて来た立体造形物です。
漆下地を一日一回のペースで繰り返し塗り重ねることによって0.5mmずつの成長を続けます。その成長の過程や意味合いは、自然界に存在する有機物が成長する法則、自然が創造する構築物と存在原理が酷似しているように思えます。それは、自然物である漆の摂理にかなった創作リズムを刻むことが最も重要であると認識した結果の造形であるからだと思います。
そこに表現される意味は、人間が物を造る行為において、自然との関わりを見つめ直し、人間本来の在り方を思い起こす方向性の一つとして成立して欲しいと思います。

Urushi is a living material, the sap of the urushi
tree.As an urushi artist working with this
natural material,I try to express the fusion of
nature and humanness.I am as much a part of
the same nature as urushi.
Fusing these three elements, (urushi,
humanness,nature), is the way I work. I feel
that working with urushi is a natural providence.
I believe all the things that we are and become
is natural providence. So in fusing all the
elements, the repeated layering and coating
urushi work makes it's mass and pattern
something which humans cannot express>
deliberately and coating of selflessly.
